Resmed mask

Identical product (Resmed Mirage Activa face mask) to the Australian version.
Even with over $40 for delivery from US to Australia, the mask was still much less than half price! - based on best price I could obtain from Australian suppliers.
Easy, secure and efficient payment by mastercard. Product arrived in 10 days.
Recommend the supplier and Amazon. |

| I had been using a Respironics mask for a couple of years and thought that was really my only choice. Then I read about this one on some Sleep Apnea forums and decided to give it a try. WOW- the fit is great and air leakage seems to be a thing of the past. Plus it's made better than the Respironics and not nearly as fragile. You owe it to yourself to give this one a try. |
Excellent fitting, excellent confort, very silent, very good !

After using the regular ResMed Mirage II for a couple of years (and I liked it), I still didn't like the small thin cushion and the plastic hitting the nose brige, so when I saw that this model has a three-times larger cushion I knew it would also provide a lot more room, away from my nose bridge.
In the end even if you adjust the straps too tight, it won't be near as unconfortable as a thin cushion.
Boy, what a relief and nice fitting when it arrived. The padding gel is unbelieably easy on your face and it still holds very well. The seal is very effective.
The level of noise is far below the previous model I used. The air vents out straight ahead, but not in one hole: it is distributed in a circle in smaller holes, helping to difuese the "wind out" and keeping the noise low.
This "straight ahead blowing" is the only drawback for us sleeping with a partner, but is an acceptable trade-off for the efficiency of this mask and your good night sleep.
By far, it is the best mask I've used.
Highly recommended !

To all those who have been using a cpap mask for several years, you have no doubt purchased various masks, some have been o.k. and served a short lived, unconvincing purpose but allow me to recommened the Mirage activa LT for various, specefic reasons to you, a seasoned user. First of all, it is really a comfortable mask to wear during your sleeping period and does not prompt you wake up during your rest time for air leakage adjustments. For some reason some cpap masks tend to have pieces of their manufacturing fall off, therefore you find yourself performing repairs until your able to purchase and have another cpap mask ship to you, of course hoping that the next one's design will perform better for you. Let me assure you,(if you read this much of my opinion) that yes, we would all like to be liberated from our cpap machine and mask, but until we are able to have an actual solution to our sleep apnea disorder, please try this comfortable, rest providing mask until then.
P.S. You will have better results with this mask and be content that you read this opinion if you order the right size for your specific structure. |
I don't like it -- even the smallest size is too large and bulky

This is supposed to be the top of the Resmed mask line so I was looking forward to trying it. However, after sinking a bunch of money into it because it is also the most expensive at the time, I just don't like it.
The headgear is standard and works just fine. However, the silicone mask portion is just too big -- even the smallest size to where it "folds over" onto our face and also winds up trapping condensation. Like the Mirage Micro Nasal Mask with Headgear this still blows cold air out into uncomfortable places though they try to redirect that a bit by putting a flange over the nose piece. However, the air still comes out with such force that it makes it a noisier mask than my current favorite Respironics ComfortGel Small. In terms of how long it lasts -- it uses the same brittle plastic that all the masks use. I have never been able to put up with one long enough to have it break on me...
The claim to fame on the Activa is that if you move around a lot, because of the "mushable" silicone mask, you will be able to maintain the seal and not wake up. I haven't found that to be the case. Instead, I find myself having to rearrange my pillow just to keep the extra flaps from interfering and getting pushed out of the way.
It does come with some extras -- a little carrying bag, an extra piece of tubing, and a DVD. I've never looked at the DVD. The extra tubing is useful and I wind up using the little carrying bag for knitting tools or makeup.
Overall, I just can't recommend this mask -- particularly if you need a small. It is more of a gimmick and over-engineered when a simpler design just works better.
